The 8 habits
Post more than once, on more than one account
Reach comes from volume and testing. Run 3 to 10 accounts in the same niche and post 2 to 3 times a day on each. Most posts will do little and a few will take off, so more tries gives you more chances to find a winner.
Don't post the identical file everywhere
Instagram can spot the same video on several accounts. Give each account its own version with small edits: a touch of film grain, a slight colour tweak, a light crop or zoom, and a different caption.
Only mirror videos with no on-screen text
Flipping a video is a useful trick, but it also flips any text and logos. For screen recordings, product demos or anything with words on screen, leave mirroring off.
Burn in captions
Lots of people watch with the sound off, and captions help them follow along. Vary the caption style on each account so they don't all look the same.
Mix your formats
Reels are best for reach. Stories keep your existing followers warm. Feed posts build out your profile for people who visit it. Don't rely on just one.
Test with trial reels
On accounts with 200 or more followers you can post some reels as trial reels. They're shown to non-followers first, so you can see what lands before it reaches your main audience.
Find your winners and remake them
When a post clearly beats your usual numbers, remake it. Keep the idea, change the hook, the edit and the caption, then post the new versions across your accounts.
Pick sensible times
Post when your audience is likely to be online, and spread posts out through the day rather than dropping them all at once.
Your weekly routine
- Monday Batch-film or collect 10 to 20 clips.
- Tuesday Upload them and schedule the week.
- Every day Spend 10 minutes replying to comments and DMs.
- Sunday Check your analytics, pick the winners and remake them.
Mistakes to avoid
- Posting the exact same file on every account.
- Mirroring videos that have text or logos on screen.
- Giving up on an account in its first week.
- Never checking what actually worked.
- Posting everything at the same time of day.
